This is no ordinary love

"Oh, I don't really live anywhere right now."

Vita Nova looks curiously at the mare when she answers her so nonchalantly, puzzled over how easily the words slipped from her lips. Freya looked generally content with the fact that she was homeless, a title that shook Nova to her core, and she dreaded coming to terms with the fact that she too, was basically homeless again. She wore it as a badge of shame, as if she was lesser than the others here who belonged somewhere else. She hated the isolation that seemingly came with the nomadic lifestyle, and dreaded the loneliness. Perhaps Nova was being a little too dramatic -- she had places she could go to. But she feared what leading a life of wandering could do to her newborn daughter. Nyah deserved a stable and safe home, even if she was the product of two horses with seemingly ever-changing ties to terrains and horses here.

Nova flicked one ashen ear lobe forward and then the other when Freya mentions her time in the Inlet. Nova bobs her head once in understanding, wondering what life must have been like for her then. "Why did you leave?" Nova blurted out without much thinking, letting the blunt question hang in the dead air in between them. She hoped Freya wouldn't mind, but it was too late to rescind the question at this point anyway. But perhaps it was deeply rooted within her, given Nova's own volatile relationship with her own mother. She never understood what drove Evaline to abandon Valentine when she was his lead mare, to go on this loonie quest to find Shamwari. Perhaps Freya had a more thoughtful way of describing what would drive a mother to leave... Maybe it would help her understand. But until then, all Nova knew was that she vowed to never abandon her own daughter as Evaline had her other children.

Bjorn. The steely mare lets the name roll over and over in mind but no image of a stallion she knew was drawn from the depths of her thoughts. "I'm sorry, I've never met someone named Bjorn." She said with the flick of her tail. Nova let her blue-eyed gaze drift over to where her daughter still continued to sleep soundly before returning to Freya again. "Maybe he's the one whose been lurking around the Inlet lately. But there's no way to know for sure." Nova didn't know how likely it would be for Freya and her son to reunite on the islands at this time, but she didn't mind igniting the idea, if it was helpful to the kind mare. "I can travel back there with you, if you want." She throws out casually. "There's strength in numbers, even if we come across someone other than this Bjorn."
