Aplos Riverside

Moladion’s powerful, winding river...
Aplos River is a broad, slow-moving river originating from somewhere beneath the mountains of Spirane and feeding Iromar’s moors in the south. The northern parts of the river are known for their strong currents, with the water becoming slow moving in the south. The riverbanks vary along its course, ranging from soft hummock grasses to small groups of pine, and sometimes nothing but pebbles and sand. Crossing can be difficult at times, but it can be swam or bridged by fallen trees or boulders alike.

Draygo had lingered about Aplos River. It seemed a fine enough place to set up shop. Though he had encounter far to few wolves, there were enough of them that once he was fully settled in he could play his games. His tail swayed back and forth with an amused smile upon his maw. It was only amplified by the cougar skull he wore. He had heard of greater felines out there, but they did not share the ranges of wolves, so the fox-colored brute could not even deign to discover one.

The rusty male trudged along, mindful of his surroundings as he moved close to the river proper. Draygo paused momentarily, lowering his head and lapping up some water to quench his thirst. That was when something caught his eye. His pale gaze focused in on the half-eaten corpse that clearly had come from further up river. It had snagged on a stray rock for a brief moment before continuing on its way. He watched it go by, trying to determine the species of the creature. It had pique his curiosity. He turned his attention up river, following in that general direction. It took a bit of time, but he eventually came across a bloody smattering on the earth. "I wonder... Perhaps this is where you met your end..." he mused quietly with a tilt of his head.

The brutish wolf investigated the area around for a moment. Draygo found himself frowning. Whoever had done it had concealed there presence here quite well. He dropped to his haunches stumped for the moment as to how he ought to proceed. Sitting here would do him no good. The man rose, his brows furrowed as he padded along, unknowingly following a similar path that Sekhmet had. He was muttering to himself when he came upon the thicket of thorns. And that was he noticed her.

Her scent at least, as he prepared to maneuver around the thorns, for passing through them at his size was not ideal. Another wolf nearby meant possibilities. His tail twitched slightly as he followed the new trail, not knowing this was the same wolf who had left the body in the river. His eyes narrowed when he finally caught sight of her. Draygo crept forward, trying to get a better look. Her posture in the hollowed out tree path did not say sleep, and the close inspection meant he saw she was not a slight female either, which meant lesser odds of her being hunted by him at least. For now, he observed from afar, trying to gauge this stranger.
