Loki had come to terms a long time ago with the fact Enderly liked to have multiple females in his life. Maybe not all at once but sometimes he seemed to move on quicker than others. His mother Eris had told him that Enderly was once with a female that hurt him. She rejected him and Eris saw the potential in him so she kept him around, showing him that he could be happy with her. Enderly stayed with Eris for a long time but apparently even that magic wore off because he could smell the remaints of Enderly's prodige on this pup but he didn't smell or look like Eris at all. Loki wondered how long after he lost Eris did Enderly move on this time? Was it just a one time thing or did he stick to the new female and offer her protection as well? Loki remembered well the jealous protection he offered the females he bedded. He could still hear the male's grinding voice in his head, asking Eris who she was with and if she was cheating on him. At the time he didn't know what any of it meant but he knew now. Did the boy before him have any idea who his father really was? Or was he too young as Loki was to see it? The boy had guts; he'd give him that. Loki watched the way he shifted on his tiny paws and stared at him with a bold look as if daring him to make the wrong move. It was almost laughable but Loki's neutral expression never changed. He didn't mean the pup any harm, at least he didn't think he did. He only came here looking for Enderly and found him instead. Or rather, the pup found him. Was there a purpose to it? He hoped to find out. He kept going back to the scar on the pup's eyes. It wasn't too recent but recent enough to be curious. Was he playing or did someone do it on purpose? It almost marked the pup, as if whoever did it left it as a reminder for later to recognize him as the pup they forgot to...what? Kill? Maim? Threaten? Seems the scar itself would be threat enough so perhaps more than that. The pup might have a story but Loki wasn't here to find out. He just wanted to know where to find Enderly. Maybe that would point him in the next direction of where he should go now that he was here. Loki got his confirmation of the pup's relation to Enderly soon enough because the pup all but scolded him for calling Enderly out on his womanizing tactics. The thought was almost amusing yet Loki didn't feel the need to quirk a lip or even show a glimmer in his eyes. He only continued to watch the pup. "My words have made you angry, but I only say what I know. Does knowing the truth make you angry or only that I have chosen to say it?" His head tilted again, blinking at the pup his only show of interest in the answer. The boy asked who Loki was but he only hesitated a moment before he gave Loki the answer he was looking for. Well, not exactly looking for but it was definitely a helpful answer. It seemed Enderly had found his end while Loki was gone. He was no more. But Loki relied heavily on facts because he couldn't put too much stock in emotion. Even the sorrow he could pick up in the pup's tone wasn't enough. He leaned his head down a little to better read the pup's features. "Show me proof. Did you see him take his last breath? Many wolves disappear and never come back and others believe them dead. I came here looking for him. He shouldn't be dead." His words were almost more forceful this time, as if saying that he came here for him would pull Enderly back into being just so he could do what he came to do. He wasn't even sure what he came to do exactly. He only knew that Enderly was his link to...something. His past, his bloodline. And now that link was severed before he could come back for it. Enderly wasn't supposed to be dead. Loki needed him for something. He almost grew frustrated but felt a rise like a wave inside him that smelled oddly of panic and he refused to let that surface. Of all the despised emotions inside him, he would not let himself become helpless. He would push it down with a swallow and remain neutral and passive until something else was necessary. His eyes narrowed a little as he watched the boy, noting the glistening in his eyes. "You are about to cry. That will do no good." He said in that matter of fact tone, lifting his head up again as the boy asked if he was a friend. He tilted his head again, ears flicking and forth before they decided to stay pricked forward toward the boy. Maybe he had other information Loki needed. "I was not a friend. I was blood. Am blood. Son, to be exact. I had a brother. Do you know Silas?" His words piled together in a monotone voice like reading from a book, his only curiosity to someone else who could be his link, be helpful to him. If the pup wouldn't be helpful, then he would need to seek out his brother because he knew his mother would be no help.
