It did not take long for the mare to arrive, and Persephone gazed at her with interest as she approached. She was a sleek, slender thing clearly made for these scorched lands, and she carried herself with a confident demeanour that Persephone respected immediately. She held the mare’s gaze and offered a small bob of her head in greeting as she arrived before her. So this must be Valve, since Persephone had already arrived in Evren’s land. The stranger greeted her with a foreign word, strange in Persephone’s ears, but for now she thought it best not to question its meaning – it seemed delivered politely enough. She offered a small smile as she began. “Greetings. You are Valve, I presume?” Persephone asked, tilting her head slightly. “I am Persephone, leader of the Forest. I met Evaline, one of your herd I believe, a while ago, and she told me about you and your home here. I hope you don’t mind my intrustion – I’ve been trying to make my way around the islands and get acquainted with the other leaders, I like to know who my neighbours are.” |
