As mentioned by other members,frcophth is now essential.

With regards to written confirmation,an email from the interview panel or management should suffice,

A friend of mine who went through the same process a few years ago,was promised a timetable according to his training needs, however after starting the job,he was given the usual slavery timetable. Fortunately he had a requested a email/written confirmation of what he had been promised and submitted his resignation,but the management addressed his requirements within a few weeks.
