Announcements as of July 28, 2021

I have called you, and you have answered my call --

Do not mistake my silence for weakness, my forest kin. For I am willing to defend you with my fangs and claws, until the days come when am no longer able to. Keep an eye on the borders for Zelda and her sister Midna, because I will welcome them back into the flock on the day of their return.

The flood has left our forest home in a sorry state of disarray. I shall not tolerate this. Summer is here and we must rebuild our dens in time for winter. There is a lot of hard and dirty work ahead of us. But we shall face it together, as family, as a pack. Let's get back to work and then we shall hunt. I hunger for a feast.

From your new Alpha --

Moonshade, the Gravekeeper of Moladion

- Zelda -

Zelda was quickly growing out of her nativity she had when she had first taken leadership when she was three. The world wasn’t as good as she had hoped and while she always knew, now she had experienced it for herself, seen it all. The bad and the good and the range all across the spectrum. Zelda didn’t like to kill, or want to… but she knew there was a time when that was the only choice, or it was… more alright to do it. Arace was probably the best proof she had to that. She had a family on the way, and she had a peaceful life, one she never likely would have had otherwise had Zelda not given her the chance to prove herself. She didn’t need to die. Just… maybe change the way she viewed things. Use her abilities to serve the good of the world rather than the evil. Zelda told Hyrule the day he had run to her, covered in blood and wounded when he panicked because he had to kill someone, that he didn’t have a choice cause it was to save his family. Zelda agreed with him that day… she still did, but mourned the loss of life that had taken place, that there couldn’t have been another way. It was the same with Aranck. It was the best for Moladion that Pine killed him and took the lead, but Zelda always wished it could have been different.

Right now though she was focused more internally on her own problems. A bit more selfish for her… but it was distracting her from her duty to protect the forest as she should. Though Ceres’ reply and chuckle to her situation made Zelda feel a bit embarrassed. ”I-I see. Must be… difficult.” Though there was a questioning rise to her voice to the end of her second sentence. She wasn’t sure if it actually was difficult. For her it had been. Apparently Zelda had been as well, albeit perhaps subtly from Alexander for a while, and a bit more obviously by Lazarus. Though that was imprinting, Zelda was struck by the difference she felt between Balor and Lazarus. Though it seemed that Ceres’ certainly had more experience in the field than Zelda did. She shuffled slightly, clear in her unease of the topic and certainly her sheepishness in having to ask anyone to begin with. She tried to soften it by bringing up the old assassin code, but that honestly didn’t really help how she felt.

Ceres’ was right though… and Zelda guessed the same could be applied to her. While no one really knew her bond to Lazarus, but perhaps Aster, as Zelda hadn’t really shared with anyone of her relationship with him just yet, she supposed he could be used against her… after all, hadn’t he once been used by Aranck? She shook her head, hoping that would never come to pass. If something were to happen to Lazarus because of her… she wouldn't ever forgive herself. ”Hah… yeah I guess you’re right. Maybe I should stay single for similar reasons. I’m sure not everyone in the future will find me to their liking… After all I even almost turned one of my closet allies and family against me by protecting Arace… I don’t regret it, but maybe it’s something I should keep in mind too.” She said sounding a little more than depressed. Hyrule… she never had to worry over him, but children? She always thought she would like to be a mother someday, but maybe she shouldn’t.

Her depressed expression probably clearly showed, but at Ceres’ next words and statement she couldn't help but give a genuine laugh and a smile. ”Nothing of the sort, and I certainly wouldn’t want you to make them disappear. At least if I am understanding your meaning.” She said smiling slightly, though it vanished when she thought about Alexander and Lazarus. ”It’s just someone that has been close to me for a long time apparently has always liked me, and has done things to show as such. I never really thought about liking another until recently, but it wasn’t because of him. I suppose, I feel guilty because I’m not sure I can give him my all. It would be unfair when my heart still yearns for Hyrule at times despite him being gone for… four years… to love another when not all my heart and love can be put into it?” She sighed a the last words. Was he gone forever? Dead? Coming back ever? Questions she couldn’t answer. Though that didn’t even touch the subject of Lazarus… she was just so naive in this situation. She always had Hyrule.. No one else entered her world, not even her imprint back then, the darkness he was, and now things were so… complicated. Were relationships always such?

THE FOREST RANKS

THE GRAVEKEEPER

The Alpha Male of Taviora. He will accept all challenges and block any steals. He has taken an oath to protect all within the forest, alive and dead.

THE KEEPER OF SECRETS

This will be Moonshade's chosen co-alpha. They will also be able to accept challanges and steals in order to defend Taviora.

THE KEEPER OF TRUTHS

This rank will belong to the chosen heir of Taviora. This wolf will probably share Moonshade's blood. This rank can be challenged for if you believe that you are a better candidate for the job.

THE FOREST COUNCIL

Although the Alpha's have the final say in all matters, Taviora is still a pack, we are still a community. These wolves are the most senior members of our ranks. Their role is to guide, serve and protect. All of them have earned their place here and they should be respected at all times. Every position on the council can be challanged for by a subordinate pack member. However the council has the right to block a pack member from gaining the position if they have concluded that the individual has placed their own selfish desires before the best interest of the pack as a whole.

THE TUSKS

The packs lead fighter. One of the strongest and bravest in our ranks. They will answer the call to protect the forest if either of the Alpha's are absent.

THE JAWS

The packs head of defence. They are our chief hunter and guardian to all within the forest borders. They know every inch of Taviora and every wolf within.

THE HORNS

The packs most senior teacher. They are responsible for teaching and guiding all of our young and new members so that they will reach their full potential.

THE EYES

The packs trusted informant. This wolf spends a lot of their time outside the forest borders, keeping their eyes, ears and nose peeled for news or potential trouble. Due to the secretive and dangerous nature of this rank, only a wolf that the pack can trust with their lives will obtain this responsibility.

THE DARKDWELLER

This is Taviora’s Head Healer. This wolf is responsible for treating the pack's wounds, injuries and illnesses. They are also expected to be one of the first on scene when a mother goes into labour. Along with their counterpart, The Soothsayer, they will train future healers for the service of our pack and our allies.

THE SOOTHSAYER

This is Taviora’s Head Counselor. Their knowledge of healing and herbal remedies are equal to that of their counterpart, The Darkdweller. This wolf specializes in helping us conquer the unseen demons in our heads and our hearts. They are also expected to help bring all children of the forest safely into this world.

NIGHTWATCHERS

Our trusted packmates that guard the borders while the rest of us sleep safely in our dens. If something is amiss within our lands, they should be the first to intercept any threat and call for back up when needed. Some might not call themselves soldiers, but they will spill blood if push comes to shove.

DAWNSTRIDERS

The most diligent and selfless of our pack. They are up at first light and leave our inner sanctum every few days in search of prey. They hunt far and wide in order to make sure none of us go hungry. While not out hunting, they are free to relax or assist the Nightwatchers, Daylightres or Dawnstriders with their tasks.

DAYLIGHTERS

This group will make up the bulk of our pack, they are our beloved family. They are generalists and commoners who are charged with looking after the most central and sacred parts of our home. Along with The Horns, they are expected to watch out for our children. We are happy to keep all within our ranks that love and respect the forest of Taviora.

DUSKWALKERS

Rumoured to be the most free spirited and independent members of our pack, they guard when no other eyes are available. They wander down all the winding dirt paths and have been known to explore into the freelands. They are envoys and ambassadors who assist The Eyes with their duty of keeping us all safe.

ANCIENT PINES

These wolves are older and have retired from active service. We thank them for all that they have done for our pack, however long or short their tenor was. They shall live out the rest of their years with the best food, shelter and company we can offer them.

THE BRIAR PATCH

This is the name for Taviora’s nursing mothers and their litters of puppies. Once they are born, at least one parent is expected to temporarily step down from their role in order to raise their pups for the first 6 months of their lives. An exemption can be made if another mother is willing to look after the young while the parents resume their service to the pack.

THE SAPLINGS

Too big for the briar patch but not yet old enough to be called a daylighter. These are all puppies between the age of 1 and 3. Pups can start their training from 2 and above if The Horns has found a suitable Mentor for them.

THE WELCOMED

These wolves are welcome within our borders anytime of the day or night. Blocking their access will be met with disapproval and possible punishment.

THE BANISHED

They are enemies of our pack and their presence will not be tolerated within or near our home. Those caught in contact with a wolf on this list will likely share the same fate.

THE SACRED TOMBS

Our brothers and sisters that have sadly left us for their next adventures. We give thanks for their lives and we send them on with all our love, hopes and dreams. Moonshade will accept the bones of any wolf that has ever called Taviora their home and will find them a special place within our hallowed grounds. Every burial mound is individual and sacred. Tampering or messing with one will not be tolerated. A crime against the dead will be treated as though it has been committed against a living pack member.

Remember, we are always watching from the shadows ...
