On my way home tonight, at about 7 pm, I spotted a large cat running across the road into a neighbor's yard. We live in a heavily wooded, watershed area in West Springfield, MA (where had a very active bear season this past season). At first, I thought it was a bobcat, but this cat was large and had a very long tail, beige/tan coloring. The tail appeared to be somewhat striped, but it was moving so fast, it was out of view within seconds. After reviewing photos online, I'm feeling confident that it was a mountain lion. Replies:
