Danny shot his gaze back and forth between Cypress and Thoth, his mouth opening and closing soundlessly. Cypress was looking at him with her usual dopey expression, as if the world began and ended with him, and Thoth was looking... Danny frowned. Thoth was looking the way he usually did when he was about to do something... Thoth-like. Danny glanced around hurriedly, half expecting Tristan to come sidling out of the shadows, called to his best friend's side by some sort of... invisible Bat Signal or something. He pinched the bridge of his nose, getting a distinct premonition of a headache the size of Shaman, while Cypress and Thoth continued talking in the background.
"Because... Because its yours," Cypress said helplessly. "I can't just take your inheritance, it's from your..." She hesitated, studying him. Given what she'd heard from Poppy, maybe bringing up the fact that his inheritance was something special from his mother wouldn't really work in her favor. Not sure what to say, Cypress sighed in relief when Thoth shrugged, seemingly accepting...
Nothing. He wasn't accepting anything! Danny groaned. Cypress' mouth fell open, torn between disbelief and attraction. When he grinned like that... She swallowed, biting her lower lip. Danny glowered at her, annoyed beyond belief by her dazed expression. Wasn't she listening to anything he was saying?!
"Okay, fine," Danny said with a sigh. Cypress whirled around, staring at him in surprise. He gestured at Thoth, his expression exasperated. "Don't you know by now that you can't stop him when he makes that face? Either we go with him or he will literally go by himself and probably get kidnapped again and there's literally nothing we can do about it so we might as well just go and-"
"REALLY?! We're really going, like together, to Earth," Cypress exploded, more excited than Danny would have liked.
"I know what you're thinking and it doesn't cou-"
"Oh, it counts. I'm counting it! ... Wait, wait. I can't leave yet, I have to finish my shift. How about you guys go get ready and I'll meet you when I'm off in... two hours," she leaned closer to Danny, narrowing her eyes. "If you let him leave without me I'll never forgive you."
