Susil Crags

Disaster has struck!
The Crags are a series of rocky formations with small caves and crevices throughout. Many of the lower-lying areas of the Crags have been flooded, however, with water pouring in from the Northern stretches of Moladion. Some paths have been completely submerged, and some are nothing more than a few rocky peaks sticking out of the water. The water is fairly slow moving but begins to pick speed up towards the Grotto, becoming a series of intense rapids and waterfalls as it nears the Grotto's entrance.

The area itself is still traversible. However, it can be risky. Large amounts of debris can enter the waterway, creating bridges at times but also creating dams that break and cause ocassional flash-flooding. Be careful, travelers! One wrong step and you could end up finding out where the water goes.

Deciding that stealth was the thing to focus on first as it seemed to please Gazmala when he snuck up on her, Hart had begun to study the ground, the way the rock debris shifted beneath his paws. He shifted his weight this way and that to inspect the way the rocks scraped together. It was an intricate process for him, learning the land, becoming familiar with the differences. Perhaps he thought about it too much, perhaps he should rely on instinct, but instinct alone would only get a wolf so far. If he wanted to be the best, like the Darkbringer had suggested, he had to combine instinct with knowledge and practice.

Silent as a shadow, he began to move, carefully placing one foot in front of the other, frowning when he’d scuff a pebble or his nails would click on a rock. It was easier to move like a ghost in the moors; the ground was far more forgiving. However his attention and determination would quickly be derailed at the sound a rock against rock. He turned his head, looking up just in time for a rock to bounce off a boulder and glance off his brow, the sharp edge splitting flesh beneath pristine white fur. A soft hiss escaped the boy, more out of annoyance than pain. He’d almost thought it was just a coincidence when the sound of laughter bounced through the crags. Apparently he wasn’t the only soul lurking amongst the rocks and this one certainly didn’t seem content to leave him in peace.

As he felt the warmth of blood seep from his brow, Hart shook his head, the white fur tinged pink by the wound. Resolved to ignore the taunt, the boy was about to turn back to his task when a streak of pure white barreled, nay flew, past him on nimble legs. Eyes like ink wells followed the figure as she leapt up onto a ledge and casts a look over his shoulder. A challenge? An invite? Hart isn’t particularly sure what to do with either at the moment but as the impish ghost giggles and disappears into a yawning hole in the rocks, the boy found himself moving toward the cave, curious and perhaps mildly annoyed that his day of self-training had been interrupted by...whatever this was.

As a pup he’d never been welcome to play with the others, always kept apart. If this was the other wolf’s attempt at play, it was no wonder he didn’t understand. Moving on paws that were far too large for his current size, Hart slipped steadily into the darkness, mindful of where he stepped as he attempted to move silently. Just because he’d been interrupted in his process didn’t mean he couldn’t still attempt to practice. Pausing just within the cavern, Hart frowned as he looked around. It wasn’t completely dark but even so, he couldn’t see the shewolf anywhere. Given her bright white pelt, he would’ve imagined it would be easier to find her in the dark. Still, she is here. He can smell her, not that it helps him locate her.

Suspicious that perhaps this is some sort of ambush or random attack, Hart proceeds cautiously then stops as a voice echoes through the darkness, bouncing off the rough walls of the cavern and causing a deep scowl to pull at his brows. Demon. The voice in the cavern was drowned out by the voices of his past and a raspy growl rattled in his throat as his ears pinned back. Cursed. Demon. Evil. Those and many other names spit at him with fear and hatred since he could remember. He’d never understood why the members of his mother’s pack had been so against him. She’d never explained before dying.

Distracted by his past, Hart came back to his senses just as the white wolf seemed to drop out of the sky and slam into him, teeth closing on back and red fur and tugging, pulling him off balance. Caught unaware and still not entirely recovered from his prolonged starvation, Hart was easily bore to the ground by the girl, a look of pure annoyance creasing his brow and curling his lip as he attempted to squirm. The teeth released his ruff and he twisted sharply, getting his feet under him, just as those teeth sunk into his shoulder, piercing flesh and drawing blood to the surface. No whimper or yelp, just a hoarse snarl as Hart twisted his head around and snapped at the female’s face even as she danced away on paws too nimble for her own good.

Scrambling to his feet, Hart forced himself to ignore the twinge of pain in his shoulder and the scent of blood that now floated in the musty air as his fully black eyes followed the cackling girl. Black lips curl back as pools of black narrow. Adopting a sturdier stance, the red tipped black along his neck rising in irritation, he lowered his head slightly, tail lifting slightly. He didn’t know who she was or what she wanted, but Hart wasn’t much for games. He was for training and eating and sleeping, in that order for the most part. Still silent, he never let his mind or his gaze stray from the female as he watched for her next move. No doubt the Darkbringer would have something to say about him getting jumped by some female, some threatening speech followed up by a poignant lesson. A lesson he well deserved for being caught like that.
