If you read everything on their page. The 700 ft spillway is now compressed to the much smaller lower section but there is a 15% increase in efficiency.
The higher part of the spillway is for a 100 yr storm. But if that happened.. water would surround my place. It seems odd to have built so much “high” spillway. Because it may never be used yet I’m sure it was expensive. It too is compressed but the labryth design is almost half mile long if it was stretched out straight.
