A neighbor up the street has a nesting platform on their verandah under the eves. Doves started nesting there about a month ago. Today one of the two nestlings attempted to fledge or fell from the nest, but died by misadventure on the steps. The homeowner thinks it broke it's neck. He told me the remaining squab is expected to fledge in a day or two
This is a very early nesting date. The pair are probably some of the birds that fed at my place this past winter and were able to start nesting early as they were already established on territory. In downtown Barrie. Replies: There have been no replies.
