- the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
- the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
Never let me go

There was an awkardness to their conversation, but Sani's character was too soft to question it. She felt awkard around strangers all the time and this situation was even worse. They were indeed strangers, but strangers about to become parents together. She could feel the swell of her sides and even though this was her first pregnancy she had seen it enough to know the signs.

She was to have this stallion's child and her only will was for the foal's good health. Well, and she hoped this chestnut was a kind father. He didn't have to be perfect, but it would be nice if he knew what he was doing since she really didn't. Sani had watched her sister have children over the years so she knew some things, but nothing was the same as doing it for real.

She smiled shyly at the stallion as he introduced himself. Her green eyes blinked at the fade of his smile. It almost seemed like he was trying to force happiness. Why, she wondered. Then he shows some of his guilt in his next words and apology. Still, Sanibel smiles and shakes her head. "You have done nothing wrong. Honestly, I have wanted this for some time." By 'this' she meant a child. Her gaze falls to her side just as his drops to the ground.

She looks back at Shamwari just as his gaze is returning to her. He asks how she found him and she felt a small ping in her heart. Had he not wanted anything to do with her after the breeding? Did he not expect to parent this child? She could feel sweat begin to form on her body in the rush of emotions and a sudden rise in temperature. "I uh..I followed you here."
