Spring In The Sugar Bush

The sap was still running today in the Medonte Sugar Bush but is slowing to the end of the season. Some trees not running at all but every 10th bucket about a quarter or half full from last yesterday afternoon. I feel this may be the last day for sap run and the season will be over tomorrow. A few observations of Mourning Cloak butterflies in the bush, the honey bees very active and lots of Cluster Flies (Pollenia griseotomentosa?) at the sap plus the more common Pollenia rudis.
