Passing of Milt Cottee ~ Former CO 36SQN

Group Captain Milton James Cottee AFC MID US Air Medal (Ret’d) passed away early hours of Tuesday 1st May 2018.
Milton had a long distinguished Royal Australian Air Force Career initially joining the RAAF in the latter stages of WW2, was demobilised, joining again after studying engineering at the Sydney University. Milton graduated from No.1 Pilot training course, soon after was flying Mustang aircraft in the Korean War, he completed training at the Empire Test Pilots School, was Test Pilot for Vulcan and other RAF aircraft during an exchange tour of duty, Commanding Officer 36 Squadron RAAF, involved with the acquisition of C130H, CT4 Trainer and the last Project Manager for the introduction of F111 aircraft into the RAAF. His log book records in excess of 100 aircraft types.

Milton’s funeral will be held at 3:00pm on Friday 11th May 2018 at the Chapel, Norwood Park Crematorium 65 Sandford Street Mitchell ACT, followed with a wake at the Commonwealth Club 25 Forster Crescent Yarralumla ACT from 4:30 to 6:30pm

At the request of Milton’s daughter Sonia I end this notice for a wonderful friend and colleague, with Milt’s signature line when closing his correspondence.
