I have a open nesting box made for Robins which has been occupied by Robins over the past 4 years. Its mounted on the wall right under the sofit in a corner wall. While this spring came late I notice plenty of Common Grackles building nests in the cedar fence and in single emerald cedar trees in the yard. To my surprise,what I thought was another Robin building a nest in the box, it turned out it was a Common Grackle that actually built the nest and ended sitting in the nest. They must be moving up to the condo market now.Very unusual to see that. Replies: There have been no replies.
