Saturday May 26th **BIRDING IN BARRIE** with NATURE BARRIE.

Depart 8 am from Little Lake Parking Lot Alex Mills 705 739-1094

Barrie is now a sizeable city with lots of forests, open country, and wetlands, as well as two waterfronts. We will celebrate the biodiversity of the city by visiting a few of these spots, seeking a diversity of habitat to maximize our findings. We will watch for both breeding birds and migrants, as well as other interesting organisms.
Wear solid footwear and bring sunscreen and bug repellent.

Car Pool – On many trips it is advisable to car pool at the rally point in order to reduce the number of vehicles traveling together. Pooling also makes it easier for the leaders to keep track of the participants.
It is most appropriate to offer your driver recompense for her fuel expenses.

Field Trip meeting point – The meeting point for most field trips will be at the Little Lake Parking Lot (LLPL).Take Duckworth Street northbound to just past Hy. 400. You must make a right turn unto J.C. Massie Way after the lights (if coming along Cundles then you will make a left turn). This turns into Little Lake Road. Drive to the end of Little Lake Road and you’re in the parking lot. Please check with the trip leader for alternate meeting places.

Dress appropriately for the weather conditions. In summer bring sun block and insect repellant. Pack a lunch and bring water. Bring binoculars, spotting scope and camera. You can phone the trip leader for details – length, terrain, lunch etc. Please note that on some of our outings biting insects could be a problem. In particular we need to be concerned about ticks and Lyme disease. Please check out the following site for tips on prevention.
