Boss's Decree

"For every brother you bring to our
midst, you may keep a trinket all to
yourself. She will not be sullied or traded, unless you deem otherwise. But should you bring a mare here without a new brother first, then I will consider her property of the Lagoon as a whole
and do with her as I see fit." - Garmr

Rules

• The Lagoon is where homeless stallions come to live as a brotherhood. Mares may not live here except as captives or companions for the Leaders.

• Soldiers keep mainly to fighting, Thieves keep mainly to raiding, and Associates may do both, neither, or act as diplomats. Members may issue their own battles and raids, but should generally consult the General, Marauder or Boss for permission.

• All major decisions are determined by vote, but the Boss maintains order within the Lagoon and has the final say.

• Elections for leadership positions will be held every TLI summer, provided the qualifying criteria are met.

• You can find detailed information about how the Lagoon works on the Rules page.

• Upon election, the Boss can issue a rule for members to follow during their tenure. It is up to leadership to enforce.

he keeps waking up but it's not to the sound of birds

It's a short trip from the falls to the lagoon, the brackish scent of not exactly saltwater but not entirely fresh water a distinct and lingering one as he stands at the water's edge. There's a single island in the middle of protected crescent, flush with trees right to its edges, and beyond that a relatively narrow stretch of open ocean before the next true island comes into view. It's still a over a mile's worth of swimming to cross and not an endeavour he has any desire to embark on at the moment; is only glad to have distanced himself from Swift's frantic energy for the time being.

He is not sorry for having left her, but he is daunted by the knowledge that he is a stranger here. His impatience and preference to keep to his own company were not things that were widely known. That there were going to be feelings hurt by his gruff dismissals when he had run out of energy to expend on social niceties was a given and while he could no sooner change who he was than he could change the color of the sky it wasn't something he looked forward to.

The morning had progressed properly to full day and the summer heat which had been negligible beneath the tree shadow of the forest had seemingly gathered here at the water's edge to wait for him, hitting him like a humid sledge hammer the moment he stepped out from beneath the low hanging boughs of the tree line on onto the rocky bank. It's not exactly unpleasant, the brown stallion giving himself a shake even as sweat seemed to begin gathering instantaneously along his flanks. If he got too hot, it was nothing that a short wade through the sucking mud and waving cat tails which lined the murky shoreline to the clear water beyond wouldn't fix. For now he is content to wander at his leisure down the uneven coast line.
