GUIDELINES

- the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
- anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
- adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
- the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
- the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
Never let me go

Born in the golden fields of their new home, the healthy little palomino overo was now bouncing all over the Prairie. A week has passed since the filly's birth and she was doing great. Primrose was born perfectly healthy, happy, and beautiful just how her mother prayed for her to be. The only challenge had come with the birthing process and now, the recovery. Sanibel was not a young mare and giving birth for the first time at her age had taken its toll.

Her limbs ached as she cantered after the filly who was leaping around the Prairie with a bobbing head and kicking legs. Though the Prairie had never given Sanibel a reason to feel unsafe she still did not like her daughter to get too far ahead. So she tried calling her daughter closer, but the filly only laughed. Sanibel tried quickening her pace, but she was quickly slowed down by pain. Her deep breathing pushed her further than she believed she could go, but she continued to chase the young child.

Instantly, she regretted waiting so long. She should have just bred with whoever to start with, but there had to be some greater meaning to why fate brought her Prim now. A sudden gasp left her soft lips as Prim colided with something solid in the deep weeds. The filly was sent backwards, but a quick roll of long limbs brought her back upright. Sanibel caught up in a hurry and urgently checked over her young daughter, breathing air into the girl's face who promptly snorted.

After seeing her child was okay, she preceded to gaze emeralds onto the solid object Primrose had ran into. "Are you okay?" She asks the stranger of white and red. "I apologize for my child's behaviour." Her gaze shoots down to the palomino filly who grins back at her mother and brings herself back to her hooves.
