An Updated Bloodline Submisson Announcement!
IP: 74.199.21.5

Thus far, Blossom Forest has been lavished with some incredible bloodlines and ideas for new bloodlines. It's heartening to see the excitement and imagination of our players taking flight!

That being said, to ensure that Blossom does not become overwhelmed with fancy new species, we are adding new measures to the acceptance process. This should help us maintain the balance of the site - so that players don't lose muse when they're hit with "too much," but creators can still share their ideas freely. These updates are NOT to punish anybody - no one has done anything wrong! As you guys are well aware, this site is always evolving; us staff members are constantly doing our best to come up with ways to make Blossom fun, fair, and smoooooooth.

1. As always, before a bloodline - open or closed - can be added to the site, it must be approved by staff. Staff members will discuss all aspects of the bloodline with the creator. A minimum of two staff members must approve the new line - and at least ONE of those staff members must be an admin.

2. Before the line becomes "official," players must show interest. This is actually ALREADY a rule regarding new lines, but we didn't really have a way to enforce it. Once a line has been given the "Okay" by staff, the creator must post their idea on the Plots Board. A minimum of three players must show interest in the line within 30 days of the creator putting their ad on the Plot Board. Once three players have shown support, new characters of this species must be joined on the join board within 30 days. If enough players have not shown interest or joined their characters within these probationary periods, then the bloodline will be tabled. This does NOT mean that the line is done for - rather, the creator must wait six months before submitting the bloodline again.

3. Players are only allowed to submit ONE open and ONE closed bloodline per year. As a reminder, open bloodlines may be submitted throughout the year; closed bloodlines may only be submitted once a year, at a date that staff decides. Closed bloodlines must go through the same probationary periods of garnering interest and joins as open bloodlines.

4. In the interest of encouraging new bloodlines to be active, staff is introducing the concept of Creator Responsibility. This is similar to Alphas needing to post every so often to keep their packs. Creators must run "activity checks" for their bloodline at the end of every season; "activity" in this case means that a character has posted at least ONCE that season. If fewer than 3 characters of that species have posted during the season, the bloodline goes extinct. The three minimum characters must belong to three separate players (as a reflection of players showing interest in the bloodline).
---------------------->> REMINDER! When a bloodline goes "extinct," it does NOT mean that all those characters die! It simply means that no new characters of the line may be joined, and no pups of that line may be born. A bloodline that goes extinct must wait 6 months to be resubmitted again.

5. This brings us full circle, back to the concept of magic. At this time, Blossom Forest will not allow lines that use magic to be submitted . . . but we will allow lines that are magic. What does this mean?
- For the most part, it means that the only "magical" aspect of a bloodline should be that which affects the wolf's appearance. For example: the glowing of the Akasha, the eyes of the vampires and Tempests, and the rainbow fur of the Arcus Irae.
- NO OFFENSIVE/ATTACK MAGIC. That means no controlling the elements, no telekinesis, or any other abilities that would give the line an unfair advantage over other lines.
- NO MAGIC THAT WOULD CHANGE SITE GAMEPLAY. This means no magic that transforms landscapes, grants wishes, controls the thoughts/actions of other wolves, etc.
- I know what you're thinking. "But what about the Zaba, who can cut stone with their claws? What about the Tempests, who can't be lied to and can see souls? What about the rainbows, who can project an aura?" There are SOME instances when a line may use magic, provided that the magic cannot be used in battle/does not affect site game play. Such magic would include being able to communicate with nature/using scrying tools, changing one's appearance, and flight. All magic is nulled when battling at Blican Orlege for official things such as alphaship, and ALL magic must have a price or weakness that is equal to the abilities it produces. Staff will discuss permitted magic and weaknesses on a case-by-case basis.

BLOODLINES THAT ARE NOT ALLOWED, PERIOD
1. Starry/Galaxy-type wolves. We already have these - the Celestials.
2. Elementals. No elemental magic is currently permitted.
3. Any "copy" bloodlines that match any current lines too closely
4. "Fanfic" bloodlines. We'd prefer if you made a bloodline that is not based on anything else that exists. If you do make a "fanfic" bloodline, please try to make it as unique as you can! Examples of a "fanfic" bloodline would be basing wolves off of creatures from a book or show - such as Ghoul wolves from Tokyo Ghoul.

BLOODLINE LORE BOOKS MUST ALSO BE WRITTEN IN AN EASY TO FOLLOW MANNER.
Here are some guidelines for writing your lore book. Please try to follow the format as closely as possible.

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to ask us! Have fun, and happy bloodline-making!
