GUIDELINES

- the Prairie stands as a symbol of peace and prosperity among the islands
- anyone is welcome to live here so long as they do not bring harm to the Prairie or any of it's residents
- adventure and exploration is not only allowed, but encouraged! residents are asked to use their better judgement and not travel to places that could bring them harm
- the head of the prairie has final say in all prairie matters. the secondary and third positions are not able to be challenged for and are selected by the head
- the guardians take on a more active role in the prairie; they must protect the inhabitants of the prairie and go on patrols of the prairie borderlines and shore. they can welcome strangers to the prairie and invite anyone to live here, though they must inform one of the leaders of any newcomers or visitors
Never let me go

She was surprised to hear the thundering hooves and the clash of bodies in the peaceful Prairie. Sanibel had been grazing as her young daughter nursed when she first heard the commotion. She had looked up to see the grey stallion Warsaw attacking Shamwari. She felt instant shock, followed by a strong urge to get her daughter far away. She worried over Sham's safety, but knew there was no way she could help expect keeping Prim safe. She had drove Prim as far away as she could without bringing her too close to the sea.

Shock crossed her again when she saw Warsaw galloping toward Vita Nova and then the forms of Shamwari and Jabari chasing him off. A sigh of relief left her and she moved her daughter closer to the herd just as Jabari arrived to inform them of Shamwari's summon. She didn't know what caused Warsaw to attack, but she worried what Shamwari might think when he learned he was family. He was a relative, but not a horse she spoke to or knew much about since he had grown from foal hood. The fear he might be here for her and Prim was scary and caused guilt to wreck her nerves. Even if it had been pretty obvious he was after the sister of Shamwari, she still worried.

The light golden mare approached the gathering group of horses on the shore that Shamwari had called forth. She did not push her way through the crowd, but she made sure to find a spot where she could clearly gaze upon the form of her chestnut leader. Her eyes scanned his body for injuries as a lump formed quickly in her throat. Prim pressed tightly against her mother with eyes big and full of freight. Maybe it was her mother's body language that had her still frightened, but whatever it was, Prim was defiantly not her usual self.
