I spend my time ticking boxes to prove I am competent. I cannot actually manage the casualty session by myself and burst into tears if I am asked to see more than 4 patients in a morning. I get paid maternity leave and can return to the programme when it suits me, I can live in the same house as my family and do not have to apply for a job every year. I get plenty of postgrad training and support at every stage. It is virtually impossible to remove me from the programme even though I do hardly any work. After getting my CCT I am going to Australia to work privately...
