Persephone had barely made it back towards the centre of her dark, sheltered home when a loud call cracked the silent air. Her head snapped up with a start, her dark-tipped ears flicking in the direction of the sound. She did not for a moment consider not answering it, but she could not deny that she was apprehensive. There had been far too much trouble for her in the Forest as of late, and she worried that this unexpected visitor heralded more. But she went towards it anyway. She did not appear from the shadows with ears pinned and snapping teeth, but she did come cautiously. Her gait was somewhat stiff, her ears up but angled backwards, and dark eyes narrowed and untrusting. “Who are you?” she asked simply, her tone guarded but not unkind. She would normally have been more inviting, but recent events meant she was less than excited to find a strange male in her home. |
