NATURE BARRIE OUTING

SCANLON CREEK CONSERVATION AREA
Saturday, September 22
Depart 6:30 a.m. from South Barrie GO station parking lot
Trip Leader: Paul Forde 58Forde@gmail.com Phone- 705 725 0750
This beautiful conservation area on the shore line of ancient Lake Algonquin is a nature lover’s paradise
It is home to many species of birds and other fauna. Fall is an especially beautiful time of year in this oasis of woodland and wetland with colours starting to change and the fall migration is in full swing. It boasts a small pond and riparian habitat.
This walk is on well-maintained park trails but some are on very steep hills. People must be able to navigate this terrain- Down and up! It is a few kilometres around the path.
At a minimum, this walk will take two full hours there and back. Wear good reliable hiking footwear and possibly a hiking pole for the hills. Note: There are washrooms at the beginning of the trail.
If it’s pouring rain at the GO station, we may cancel. If you wish to attend, it will be important to send me your cell number beforehand.
Drive is about 20 minutes to Scanlon Creek south on Yonge Street. Parking at Scanlon Creek is $6 per car.
Dress for fall weather. Bring your own snacks and drinks. No dogs.

Keep an eye also on our NATURE BARRIE FB page for any updates to this event.
