We were born sick

He had failed.

Warsaw woke up that morning with drive and determination to get what he wanted. He didn't foresee the outcome and didn't expect to find Vita Nova with a child at her side. He had almost forgotten what their moment in the cave meant, but as soon as he saw the golden filly, his golden filly, he was reminded. They bred and he was another being further to spreading his lineage on the islands. Why had she not shown back up when she realized she was in foal? Maybe she was trying to keep their connection a secret from the chestnut stallion the drove him off the Prairie. The male had some skill, she says that much, but he was pissed how far he got to having her and losing it all.

The image of the shocked Vita Nova and the freighted filly burned his mind as he was forced into the sea and made the swim back to the Inlet. There he paced his shore, he huffed and puffed, until he passed out with exhaustion. The next morning was a tough one. He barely felt the energy to open his brown eyes, but if he didn't all he would keep seeing was his daughter. His body ached from the tense muscles he had held in the fight and the places where Shamwari had struck him. Warsaw really felt the weight of these recent events and he was not proud of them. Vita Nova should have never been allowed to leave after they bred and he should have never lost to Prairie lead.

He debated what to do next, but his injuries kept him trapped in the Inlet for a few days. It was in those next few days that Vita Nova helped him decide. Her scent filled his nostrils as soon as stood wet upon his shore. Warsaw stood close enough to hear the filly's whiny as he stood among the nearby trees. A shiver ran the length of his spine as a chilly breeze hit him just right in the back. The cold season was approaching and he had to make sure Vita and the child get stuck here. The grey stallion emerges from the trees just as the smokey mare tells the child they won't be staying long. He chuckles.

"And why keep my child from me?" He says as he approaches closer, mochas glued to the palomino filly. "That is just cruel. Almost as cruel as not returning back here introduce me properly." He sighs dramatically and looks away from them, towards the sea behind them. "But you are here now. After I had to display my affection for you that is." He recalls the fight and a snarl lifts his lips in an angry manner.
