Axis without trial frame

Axis without trial frame

I have been practising retinoscopy for a while now, but still struggled with figuring out the axis without a trial frame.
I tried guessing it without a trial frame and always ended up at least 10 degrees away from where it lies.

Any advice/ tips on how to improve this?
