Increased Naval Activity in the Med Posted on 10/26/2018 at 15:09:54 by Bill Crawford, (14)
The below-linked USNI News article quotes the European Naval Force Commander, Admiral James Foggo, as saying that we will be able to handle the increasing Russian threat in the Med, but only with the increased collaboration with our NATO allies in that area.
ADM Foggo also alluded to our increased use of the Dynamic Force Employment (DFE) concept--the concept wherein, although the strategic deployment of our fleet forces is predictable, the tactical deployment of those forces is less predictable.
In this regard, he pointed out that although our full-time Sixth Fleet Force currently consists of only four DDG's plus the Command Ship Mount Whitney, we have recently moved the Harry S.Truman Carrier Strike Group and the IWO Jima Amphibious Ready Group into the Med area.
