I completely disagree with everything said so far. I write back to the GP rejecting the referral saying that there is no screening for angle closure. A gonioscopic examination is a poor predictor for who will develop angle closure and an optom examination of a shallow angle is even worse. I tell the GP I will only accept patients with symptoms or for those conditions in which there is an evidence based screening programe.
