Re(1): Silicone oil in diabetic vitrectomy

Incompetent!
Unless you have extensive tractional-rhegmatogenous RD, you SHOULD not put silicon oil due to the risk of perisilicon proliferation inferiorly.
Usually those under-trained VR consultants do INCOMPLETE vitrectomy and without cataract surgery ( to save time!)and this will leave the vitreous base practically untouched. Those poor patients come back with much worse RD.
