Wow!
Looking at what's happening on the stock market over the past couple of trading days, it's pretty obvious that when the author of the above article is talking about re-engaging China economically, he is talking about our competition with China for economic leadership over the rest of the world, as opposed to directly re-engaging China with trade wars, etc..
