Bright Moon - a land sullied by mystery and the ravaging scars of a terrible fire. Abandoned as a pack land for years, the terra has been used as a gathering place for the brazen and bloodthirsty drawn there by the lingering pall of death. Yet from the ashes there comes an unordained phoenix, the rainbow hues of hope glinting in her mismatched globes. Through the obsidian drapes obscuring the scenery, she alone was able to catch the perfumed aroma of new life on the breeze and hear the sluggish streams flowing ever swifter into the morning.

Thus, with a purpose, she set out to map the incognita, discovering daily the extent of the reawakening and unearthing within herself a desire to return the landscape to its former glory. Now she stands tall as privileged Alpha of the lands, lording over the rock-strewn prairie and bountiful forests with a firm but gentle paw.

Having finally realized her deepest longing to be a queen, Satowra is focused solely on the revival and maintenance of the Bright Moon Pack. Her question to each prospective warrior that comes to the border is simple:

"Do you have what it takes?"

She could not know of her misfortune, being an innocent in the world, being blind and deaf, being protected in her mother‘s womb. But as soon as the distress signal was sent to her mother‘s uterus, she was pushed out into the world. It was uncomfortable for the pup, and she started screaming, kicking even, but is soon as the tightness of the canal wrapped around her, she went as limp as a swaddled baby. It was like that - sweet and still - that she slipped into the world still covered in her amniotic sac. Long seconds passed, and the depleating amount of nutrients in her system, the ceasing of exchange between herself and her mother, finally began to stimulate her system. Her dutiful mother cleaned her off just in time, rupturing her sac and allowing her mouth access to air. Her tiny chest lifted and fell, the downward motion of her diaphragm pulling air into previously deflated lungs, and when she exhaled, long strings of fluid swept out of her nares and her mouth. Again, almost agonally, her rib cage rose and fell, her body screaming for oxygen, and the second breath finally delivered as her tiny lungs inflated with air, something it had never seen before. Always, previously, the oxygen had been provided not by her own lungs, but by the oxygen present in Athene‘s own blood - It had entered her at her umbilicus, swept throughout her organs, through her heart, and through a small hole in her vascular system that almost completely bypassed the lungs other than to supply the lung some sustenance via the blood as well. There had been no point in breathing… But that had been a long time ago. Still, for the next few months she would be entirely reliant on her mother, and then also on her father. She was just as helpless now she had been before, perhaps more so now considering that she would now be seen as prey to the larger carnivores. Before, safe within her mother‘s cradle, she had been veiled. Yes, she could still have been damaged by a large predator had they been stupid enough to attack her mother… But even swollen with pups, Athene would have still been able to hold her own up until the end when her contractions had sent her to the ground.

Though she cannot hear it, overhead, her mother was naming her. It was in rhyme, but that did not matter to the pup - she could not hear it anyway. What care did she have if her mother had the skill to rhyme her name ‘Giazakisa’ to another word or not? Once she aged, and her ears opened to the world, she would come to love the lilting rhythm of her mother‘s voice. She would know a different Athene from the one that her older sister Gwyneira had come to know. The only Athene that Gwyn had ever known was the teacher, or the mentor. But Giazakisa would know a true mother, despite the fact that Athene would likely never be able to fully accept any of her offspring that were mutated far beyond that of a simple Vipera, Cervid, or Avian. But perhaps strangest of all, and most dangerous to for this little pup, was her mutation itself. Prey and predator, herbivores and carnivores… They were both members of the animal kingdom, but completely different entities. Wolf pups, along with the offspring of most other carnivores, top predators, were born blind and deaf, but more than that they were helpless. They could not stand, nor could they even relieve themselves without their mother‘s aid. And why should they? They really had noone to fear considering their parents were at the top of the food chain. But herbivores and prey, such as the strange breed of sheep that Giaza was mixed with, were always on the run. They needed to be ready for a variety of evasive maneuvers, to run from predators, to survive, from the very moment that they were born. They were born fully functional with eyes that could see, ears that could hear, and legs that could walk. And Giazakisa, and her strange hybridization between the two species that were normally enemies, was in a dangerous and unprecedented boat. Like all of her siblings, she was blind and deaf… But almost immediately after her birth, she started trying to stand, the roughness of the ground peeling away the soft pads present on the bottom of her hooves meant to protect her mother‘s delicate inner lining. She wobbles and stumbled about, falling over a few times, but as she stood on shaky legs, her scent of smell leading her to her mother‘s side, she stumbled. Almost immediately, she tripped over her mother, collapsing to the ground in a heap of limbs that were much too long for her. But it was a blessing really for it helped her find her mother‘s mammaries, and she began to feed, oblivious to the fact that her mother had half a mind to destroy her before she ever truly had a chance to live.
