I saw a mountain lion in Windsor, MA today. Clear as day approximately 12:34pm (post sighting time), it walked across Rte.9 in front of my car. The cat exited the guard rail on the south side of Rte.9 and entered the parallel north side guard rail. I was less than 500 feet away, and had perfect view of it when it emerged, as there was no other traffic. I closed the gap quickly and was only 50-75 feet away before it went under northern guardrail. I pulled my car across the road but the mountain lion was in the patch of woods. The direct register of it's gait, color, muscular quality and tail were all clearly mountain lion (not bobcat). I would estimate it was around 60-80lbs. I only wish it hung around and let me get a picture of it. Oh well, what an amazing experience! Replies:
