Middle grades, particularly those coming from overseas beware! The trust will give you two options: either do fixed clinic sessions without on calls or if you want a theatre session, you have to do on calls! Don't fall for the trap! They don't want you to do surgery, because consultants want them for their private practice and therefore they will do everything to make sure that the wait list doesn't get shorter! If you are naive, you will choose option two for a theatre session with on calls! Then you will be constantly criticized and one small mistake, and your theatre session will be cancelled for 'patient safety concerns', but the on calls will just continue as before! That was the plan right from the beginning to get you to do only clinics and casualty and on calls, but you were just an unsuspecting naive bu**er, who fell for it! Replies:
