CHARITABLE ADVERTISING on Web Site There are many worthwhile charitable causes in existence, but we can only accept sponsorship or fundraising efforts on Fusilier Association websites, that specifically support approved Fusilier charities. This essentially means that it is acceptable to use these pages to seek sponsorship for The Fusiliers Aid Society (which includes Fallen Fusiliers), and The Fusilier Memorial fund only. We now have our own dedicated justgiving site (http://www.justgiving.com/fusiliersaidsociety), which you can use to help raise money for your cause. If you let RHQ (Asst Regt Sec) know the specific cause you are raising money for, it will be directed to the correct fund. Messages soliciting sponsorship for causes or charities other than the Fusilier ones mentioned above should not be placed on the message board and may be removed by the Webmaster.

WARNING ORDER - SERVICE OF THANKSGIVING FOR FIELD MARSHAL THE LORD VINCENT OF COLESHILL GBE KCB DSO - LONDON 1200hrs THU 28 MAR 2019

RHQ has received the following Warning Order for the Service of Thanksgiving for Field Marshal the Lord Vincent of Coleshill who died in September 2018. There may be members of the Regiment who served with Field Marshal The Lord Vincent who may wish to attend the Thanksgiving Service. If so, please read and note the following Warning Order.

The following is issued as a Warning Order for diaries:

• Service: A Service of Thanksgiving will be held for the life of Field Marshal The Lord Vincent of Coleshill GBE KCB DSO on Thu 28 Mar 2019.

• Location: The Service will be held in St Margaret’s Church next to Westminster Abbey.

• Timing: The Service will commence at 1200 hrs. The Service is expected to last for 1 hour.

• Reception: There is a post Service reception planned and it will be held in the Assembly Hall in Church House, Dean’s Yard, some 200 yards away. It will start at around 1330 hrs (to allow time for movement from the Church to the reception). Church House has ‘step free’ and lift access for wheelchairs. Further details will be issued after a recce by the family.

• Ticketing. It is likely that the Service and reception will be ticketed, both for security purposes and to gauge numbers. Details of how to apply for tickets will be issued later.

• Dress. Dress instructions for serving members of the Royal Regiment of Artillery (RA) will be issued later.

• Transport. Movement to and from the Service will be the responsibility of individuals attending.

A further detailed planning meeting will be conducted by PS12 and the Vincent family, after a recce on Fri 18th Jan. The requirements for RA support (troops to task) will ‘fall out’ from this meeting.

Individuals wishing to attend are invited at this stage, to mark the event in their diaries.

• Point of Contact. RHQRA (Asst Regt Sec and PA Mrs Jennifer McGrath), will be the initial POC for all queries, including those to be directed to Col Mark Vincent and the family. All e-mails should be copied to both POC addresses. E-mail contacts are:

o Maj R M Begbie (Asst Regt Sec) – Bob.Begbie808@mod.gov.uk
o Mrs Jennifer McGrath (PA to the Master Gunner and Regt Sec) – Jennifer.McGrath924@mod.gov.uk
