She had made the decision to leave Diveen. She didn’t tell anyone, say anything, they probably didn’t care anyway. Maybe her father, maybe her brothers and mom, but she would come back and apologize some other time. Right now she wanted answers. She wanted to meet her true mother, figure out what happened, was she every bit the monster they said she was? She killed her father and now… after all this time her grandfather finally succumbed to his own wounds. That certainly made her seem the monster, but then again, Pascal was going to give her the benefit of the doubt, the benefit that she had taken away the moment her grandfather had been attacked once again by her birth mother. She wished things could have been different, or at least, like they had been before. When she was learning healing from her father and even now and then her grandmother, when they could still look at her, say her name without a hiss or pulling ears back. Pascal was a witch, or at least, that was how she felt. Scorned from her home land by her own family.
Zephyr was the only one who listened and cared anymore. Possum was gone, her brothers and mom and dad also all gone and caught up in their own lives to care, but Zephyr was there, listened to her and now he was helping her move on. She didn’t understand why, but he was always someone she just felt she could trust. His voice broke the silence of their quiet wander towards Asteraia. She could see the flat lands appearing, Pascal wasn’t sure if she wanted to join, but she did know it was where her mother was, she wondered if her mother would accept her, if so, then yes… Asteraia was where she wanted to be, if not then… well… they would just have to find somewhere else… ”No… I’m not sure. I just want to see her first. I know what they said, but I guess I just want to see her for myself.” She said her voice quiet almost like a whisper. Alone she never could have done this, but with Zephyr at her side… she felt she could anything.
They stood upon the border and he took to sitting at his haunches. Her own heart fluttered wildly though for vastly different reasons than his own. She didn’t know that he was scared, his own demons might be here to haunt him, if she had known she might not have had him come with her, finally slowly once he looked to her she tipped her head up and called for the name no one wished to speak, the one who brought her life but also destroyed it. Kattari.
She waited anxiously for something anything to happen. And soon something.
A wolfess, that Pascal could only describe was pinkish color approached. She moved with an interesting gate, confident, almost with a swagger. Her tail flicked out behind her and it was clear that she exuded everything that Pascal didn’t. Confidence. Power. The wolfess had shockingly bright blue eyes, and her scars outnumbered that of even Zephyr. One of them didn’t seem right though, she turned her head slightly, letting the one scrutinize the pair of them. ”Not often I get anyone calling for me.” She said her voice was a lot sweeter sounding than her appearance. Kattari seemed particularly interested in Zephyr, her eyes going all over him, his scars and appearance, she hardly paid any mind to her at his side. ”So… you know me clearly, what do you want? A fight? You look like you could put up one.” A grin flashed across the woman’s maw, she still didn’t pay Pascal a single notice.
”Don’t you… recognize me?” Pas asked nervously, as suddenly the bright blue eye shot to her, a soft noise of contemplation coming from Kattari’s maw. Seeing that it wasn’t going anywhere, and feeling even more nervous before her gaze. She could tell… this wasn’t going to go how she had hoped, she expected it but she had hoped maybe… just maybe it wasn’t going to be this way. ”I’m your-” A hiss silenced her and the wolfess stepped back looking disgusted, it dawned on her apparently as her eyes widened with recognition at last.
”Say it and you die.” She snarled her head lowered, teeth bared, Pascal gasped stepping back herself. Kattari’s visage changed from confident to wild in a second, her hackles rising, ears back. She would kill her so easily, Pascal knew that and watched as her eyes flicked from her to Zephyr and back to her waiting to see if either made a move. ”I should just do it… make it complete reality. I haven’t had a good fight in so long, I just need an excuse. Hardly worth my time, so small, so weak… you though,” Her eyes landed on Zephyr a grin setting on her maw, Pas could tell that she was watching, waiting and probably even hoping for him to step forward… do something.
