The Grotto

Disaster has struck!
Years ago, an earthquake broke open several entrances into a deep, winding series of subterranean systems. It was thought that deep below, underground rivers snaked their way below Moladion. Now, flooding in the Northern reaches of Moladion has proven this theory to be true.

The Grotto is almost entirely submerged. Many of the entrances are completely inaccessible, and those that are only extend a few hundred feet before ending in water. The lower entrances, however, act almost like a giant drain for Moladion. Water pours down into the Grotto's maw as powerful rapids and waterfalls, and large amounts of debris have build up throughout the area. It can be exceptionally dangerous to travel due to the risk of flash-flooding and dams suddenly breaking, but the Grotto does offer the most consistent access across the floodwaters because of those dams.

Note:The Grotto will return to normal once 25 posts have been completed (or at Staff discretion). During this time, new threads will receive a 'Surprise','Disaster', and prizes.

At the mention of Taviora, I felt my ears droop slightly. For a moment, I looked through him as my eyes unfocused. "I've been to Taviora before," I said, my voice distant as the memories from those days came flooding back. I had gone to Taviora after my parents went missing… after Xerxes… I could feel the tears pooling in my eyes and I quickly blinked them away.

While the great forest itself was a beautiful place, full of wonderful wolves and flowers alike, I could never go back there. The shadows of the trees held too many dark memories for me. I realized that Shem must be looking at me funny and I smiled pleasantly at him, hiding the rising sorrow that threatened to consume me. "My cousin is the alpha of the forest pack. I lived there for a time but… I like my new home. The waves are pleasant to listen to."

His question took me by surprise and I found myself tilting my head in confusion. Make me do something strange? What did he mean by that? I knew that Shem was Eden's son, but other than that, I didn't know anything about their relationship. I figured it wasn't any of my business to ask. My quizzical stare must have made him rethink his question because he quickly reiterated before looking away. "Well, he asked me to discover more about the recent change in leadership with Spirane. I went there and spoke with a very nice wolf named Tyrion, who helped me understand what had happened with the two alphas. Nothing so strange about that."

Smiling again, I looked towards the direction of where the Glorall was, the distant sound of waves telling me where it was. "I don't mind being busy. It helps to keep my mind from wandering to places I don’t like it to. Plus, it gives me the chance to better myself. I can't be the same shy child I used to be. Sooner or later, I have to grow up and find my place in this world."

Okay, that was enough of that! Poor Shem didn't need me spilling all my troubles onto him. I'm sure he has his own personal things to deal with. Turning to him, I stood up and wagged my tail. "What about you? What do you to in your pack? Do you have anything fun or exciting you want to do with your life?"
