Re(3): Ranking of U.S. Presidents from Worst to Best Posted on 3/24/2019 at 23:21:37 by Bill Crawford, (14)
John,
I agree that it would be arrogant for CBS to unilaterally rank the forty five presidents.
However, if presidents are to be ranked (and they always have been and they probably always will be), I can think of a no better group of people to do the rankings than a compendium of ninety-one historians. Presumably, these historians would take into consideration such things as wars, depressions, etc., when arriving at their rankings.
I also presume that CBS would come up with its composite ranking by asking each of the ninety-one historians to numerically rank each of the forty five presidents, and then come up with its composite ranking by averaging the numerical rankings for each president, as provided by the historians.
I was surprised to see that historians would include Trump amongst the rankings, since his presidency has at least two more years to go before it becomes a part of our presidential history.
It even makes one think that CBS might have slipped in the Trump ranking (as the worst president), based upon its own leanings. Replies:
