Beaver at Henry Marsh

This morning there was a Beaver in the now open creek at the east side of Henry Marsh. As I approached the "T" in the trail, I heard a loud smack on the water. After a few minutes the beaver decided I wasn't a threat, and came right out of the water in full view. On my way back, it was still sitting there, munching on its winter store of branches.

The trails were very icy after the overnight rain. While the creek is now open at the east side of Henry Marsh, the main beaver pond remains frozen. So far there was no flooding at the "T". The Bracebridge Ponds were also still frozen. A Mink crossed the roadway in front of me at the west side of cell 3. Two Eastern Phoebes and some Robins were trying to find something to eat at the west side of cell 4 where there is some bare ground along the roadway.
