DU POND AND TINY MARSH

Yesterday I visited the DU (Ducks Unlimited Pond)in the Copeland Forest, Ducks included 20 Hooded Mergansers, and one Bufflehead. In the surrounding forest I spotted Golden-crowned Kinglets (lots), and Brown Creepers (lots) as well as a Hermit Thrush.
At Tiny in the seasonal pond on the concession road leading toward the marsh there were several duck species including Wigeon, Black Duck, Redhead, Canvasback, Ring-necked, Pintail, Bufflehead. Tundra Swans were abundant. Tree Swallows were profuse, particularly in the open fields. Phoebes were present at the visitor centre.
