Her muscles burned in protest with every subsequent step, and the mare was silently grateful to find flatter, firmer earth beneath her hooves than the loose sand of the beach. As such, she barrels through the short, low lying brush and buckles at her knees, bringing her heaving, damp body to the ground with a low thud. The heavy-set mare groans then, her nostrils flaring as her lungs singed from the potent seawater.

Exhaustion is heavy upon her. She blinks her amber eyes in quick succession, trying to urge them to focus on her surroundings. But there's no use. Wasp gives in to what her body clearly craves - some rest. She allows her heavy, boxy head to rest among the cold dirt, and her eyes to finally shut. It doesn't take long for the nearby crashing waves to lull her into a light slumber.

She sleeps, but not soundly. And not for nearly long enough before a disturbance stirs her with a start.

The stranger's call reaches her waterlogged ears and she wakes immediately. Wasp whips her head up high from the ground in a frantic spell. The sun still has yet to rise, but the horizon is beginning to change hue. Her whiskered nostrils flare as she searches the sea breeze for the stranger's scent. A stallion.

Realizing she was, in fact, the trespasser, Wasp grumbles to herself before she winces as she stands. The mare doesn't bother giving her body a good shake before emerging from the brush, her ear lobes pinned fiercely and defensively to her poll.

The stallion is quite stocky, but Wasp has a good deal of height on him. As such, she strides confidently from the brush to stand nearer to him. "I'm out." She blurts with the flick of her dark, and still wet tail. "Now what?"
