Like diamonds in the sky

Solaris

She watches the filly was interest and worry. She seemed sweet and defiantly someone she could grow closer to, but she wasn't sure Warsaw would allow that. There were more here around their age she could meet. Finding a friend wouldn't be her problem, but the stallion who owned them all would be. This young mare wasn't of their blood so she could easily become a new object of interest for Warsaw.

The girl seemed to have enough trouble find her considering how she washed up on this island in such rough shape. As she spoke about her homeland her gaze settled elsewhere into the distance and Solaris knew she must of had some kind of trouble there too. Maybe this filly was the image of bad luck, maybe worse than her own. Then again you couldn't get much worse than an absent father and a mother's abandonment at birth. It was her want to save this filly's youth that cause Solaris to feel panic. She wanted her new friend to find the life she wanted before she was forced into a life of struggle and pain. Solaris had no choice who her family was, but there was still hope for her.

She warned her, but it was too late. Her conditioning to help Warsaw gain new mares was engraved in her brain at infancy, but she struggled to fight it in this moment. That battle had lasted too long. Warsaw approaches with a gaze on her that said she would feel his anger later. The bay filly steps back as her ears fold backwards in submission. The stallion speaks about her new friend and Solaris only nods. There was nothing else she could say and nothing she could do to help her friend now.
