Neon knew that if she said the wrong thing this stallion was most likely to rerprimend her and possibly harshly too. So she tried to choose her words carefully but ones that would still get the meaning across. Her mother had taught her about life for her first three years of life. For half her fourth year she had spent fending off the new stallion of the herd. She had not liked him because he was cruel. She had watched her mother submit to him and sure she knew that was the easy way out, but her mother was also 18 years of age and getting up there. She had spent her whole life dealing with things. Neon was 4 years old and did not need to worry much about her energy being depleted so fast.
So she had fought tooth and nail to get free from him. The scars on her body and position of them told that he had tried to mount her to breed to her. She had won and he had ventured off for the moment. That night she snuck away as some fillies her age did.
She listens to his words, and sure he could be lying to sooth her nerves but she didn't think he was.Ill take you for your word She'd worry about that when he tried to impregnate her in the fall. She knew it was a dangerous thing being pregnant in the winter. She had seen mares that were pregnant succumb and die, or have amiscarriage. She didn't want that for herself not even a misccariage.
She noted his slight silence at her next words and knew he didn't appreciate them. She hadn't really meant it disrespectively. But he seemed to think better of doing anything to her instead came up with an explanation. Well that was a point to him agood point. She'd fight back if he had tried to reprimend her for it. I don't boast on whether or not im strong, my breed is strong and I can endure the harshest of wintersShe responded back.
