She didn't know how to do this. Cherish wasn't good at staying quiet, so never had been even as a young child. Being quiet when she was afraid was even more difficult for her. Instinct was to either scream until help arrived or run until she found it herself. Seeing her friend was safe, they were still safe, relaxed her. A deep sigh left her pink and brown lips as Clarity bounced towards her and rubbed up against her mother's chest. Since her return to the Lagoon her mind had been lost to the traumas of her past. Her time away from the islands broke her and created a being reverted back to her youth when life was better. Back when she was newly in love with Soljor and Cullen was just a baby.
Slowly, she was beginning to come back with every minute she spent with Macabre. Wasp had been her comfort and youth, Macabre was her strength and reality. Maybe one day she would be able to tell someone the story of why she was an adult with the mind of a child. "Where will we go?" Surely they couldn't wonder the commons forever, but Cherish had no bright ideas of where they could seek refuge. She had no one left to help, but a half sister living in the Prairie, but they barely knew one another. They really only knew of each other. Cherish wasn't even sure if she still lived there. They could run to her old home on Atlantis, but she knew no one there anymore.
Their stay away from the Lagoon seemed almost impossible. Surely Cullen would be out looking for them. A small bleat from Clarity brought Cherish's attention to her. The filly smiles and nips playfully at her mother's chest. They usually were always playing together, but now was not the time. Cherish shook her head in a way to say 'not right now'. The bottom lip of the filly pulled out in a pout.
