I was surprised to read in the current issue of the Naval Institue Proceedings that we no longer have Navy-manned Fleet Oilers, Supply Ships, etc..
I agree with the author of the below-linked article that we should re-instate these ships, as opposed to relying on unarmed civilian-manned ships.
