Was I left behind?
Tell me, tell me I survived.

The other stallion doesn't seem startled by my presence, nor my interest in exchanging words. I bob my head in a friendly manner to him, my nostrils flaring again as I take in his scent at close range. But Liland fills in the details I need to know about him soon enough.

"Ah, the Bay." I say calmly, a half-smirk momentarily finding its way over my lips. The thought of the terrain reminded me of an old friend, Nephilim. From our days as bachelor cronies to making a name for ourselves with our own herds and territories - Nephilim had always been an honest and close ally. It still stung to think he had left this world for good.

The Bay brought back a different set of memories these days, too. Paradiso, my brother, had left the Prairie to serve Nephilim. And after the spotted stallion's death, he left the islands for good with Nephilim's children, Mariael and Maziel. I shut my eyes tightly for a moment and heaved a great sigh. I missed him greatly. "My name is Shamwari, of the Prairie on Luthien." I say casually. "I'm not one for the cold, but have had many friends and family members who found comfort in the Bay over the years. The last leader there was my longest ally, and a very close friend." I say with the twitch of my red tail. I can feel how I'm rambling now.

"What brought you there?" I ask honestly, curious to know how the stocky, clearly Nordic-bred stud wound up on the islands. Tinuvel, of course, seemed fitting for him. The close threat of Warsaw lingers in the back of mind. But perhaps Liland already knows how wretched his neighbor can truly be.
