Bring Me to Life~

When he turned to look back at her, she saw a flicker of something in his eyes, some kind of recognition. But as soon as it was there, it was gone and she was left in wonder of who this Zimri was. He had a history and so did she. She knew it was wrong to blame him for what was done to her, to look at him like he was any other stallion, but it was instinct and she still wanted to protect herself. She hated what had been done to her and in some ways, she blamed herself, but she couldn't quit, not yet. His words gave her pause and at first she thought all the worst things. A cave? She thought of dark corners where no one could hear her scream.

He said no one would be able to find her and she had to blink and look away, her ears flicking uncertainly. He said that no one would find her, not her body. Then he turned away again, and he looked set on leaving. Again, she thought of the lonliness dragging her down and she snorted and stomped her hoof. "Wait! Please....." She wasn't sure why she was calling out to a stallion of all things, the thing she most feared. But he was who approached her, who offered her an escape. She looked around as the sky around them got darker. The night was closing in and she hated the night worst of all. "I'm sorry to ask something of you....and I'm sure you have things to do." She looked at the ground, sighing as she tried to gather her thoughts.

"I...hate the dark. Can you....stay where I can see you? Just for the night." She knew he had a million reasons to say no, to just leave her. He probably had a herd waiting on him. She waited only a moment before turned toward the falls. She inched toward the water, squinting until she could see the entrance of the cave. It was there, just like he said. Snorting softly, she turned to look over her shoulder to see if he was there before she walked slowly into the darkness. She didn't go very far in, not wanting to get swallowed up in the darkness. Snoting in dismay, she looked around to make sure the shadows wouldn't move before she look back out of the cave and through the water, squinting to see if she could still see the stallion. Did he leave?
