I drove up to Warwick last Sunday to visit Don. He sends his regards to all and was grateful of the messages of good will from everyone. I gave him the C130 book of sketches, together with a framed photo of A97/213. The significance of that aircraft was, Don was the Pilot and I the L/M when on the 22 Dec 1972 the aircraft was landed at Madang without the nose gear which had broken off at the strut. Marion made him up a small basket of goodies and I was amazed but not surprised that the home allowed Don to have beer in his fridge. It a beautiful new home and, in the circumstances, Don appeared quiet settled in the surrounds.
