Liland at first looks so defeated, beaten and battered from a losing battle, but his words carry them forward into a new place, and towards a new future. He doesn't let this loss define him. As a new leader, he will likely face many more losses. Only experience earns easy victories. Zeena respects him for how gracefully he's handled this. She returns his nuzzle with equal affection.
A brief nod acknowledges Sabela. Zjeena cannot muster a smile in this moment, as pleased as she is to see Sabela's welcome face. Instead her frown deepens. Would Sabela return to Warsaw? Zjeena doesn't know this other mare well, but enjoys her company and looks forward to building a friendship with her. Should Sabela choose to stay on this island, that opportunity will be lost and Zjeena will, once again, be Liland's only mare. As much as Zjeena likes Liland, his company is not the same as that of another mare.
For now Zjeena expresses her thoughts in silence. Liland continues on to explain how this loss means they must move and that he's found a place. A desert does not sound ideal, but if it offers a quiet place for Liland to recover and grow their small family, then it must do. Zjeena nods again, this time at Liland. She is ready to travel.
