Rougaru might have claimed her and pushed her to his little island to live but that didn't mean she had to stay put. She was her own mare and she had a lot more exploring to do around these islands. Getting wet was no stranger to her. She'd grown up in the marshes and her hooves were usually soft and damp. She'd adapted to it and swimming wasn't a scary thing at all to her. So as soon as she felt Rougaru wasn't watching, she took off back into the water and swam over to one of the neighboring islands, eager to see what there was to see.

As she walked up onto the shore, she shook out the excess water from her coat and liftedher head, pride and arrogance in her eyes as she looked around. For a younger mare, she had dominant blood running in her veins and it showed in the confidence of her every movement. Her father had been a very domineering stallion and had left the scars on her skin to prove it. Pain was just another form of communication in her home herd. Her mother was a strong independent mare and the others mares had looked up to her. She'd taught Monster to be strong and independent as well, though it was clear as she got older that her mother was starting to see her as more of a threat to her own rank so Monster had decided to go off on her own. She needed to have her own life, anyway.

The green grass of the meadow caught her eye first so with a surly snort and a toss of her head, she trotted over and took a few mouthfuls of grass, clearing the salty water from her mouth as she chewed the soft savory grass. As she looked around with a mouthful, her blue and brown eyes caught on the blue roan coat of another horse. Her nostrils flared, tasting the testosterone in his scent. A stallion. Snorting, she arched ner neck, holding her tail high in challenge in case he thought her a sweet innocent mare to try to claim. She had a home now but that didn't mean she couldn't parade around for other stallions to look at. Look but don't touch, right?
