mountain lion ??

I was walking along Roaring Brook Road in Lenox,MA which borders October Mountain State Park this afternoon around 6 pm.
I saw a larger tan animal with a very long tail run fast away from me up the slope of the hill into the woods on the East side of the road. I only saw its hind side and the huge tail. It went very fast. It looked to be about 3 feet tall.
The fur was tan, no grey in it.
Could it be a mountain lion?
