Sad to hear. Garry was a Canadian supermodified driver and co-owner of Cayuga 2000 Speedway, which saw supermodifieds return to that track after a long hiatus.
Obituary:
EVANS, Garry “Hacker” - Passed away after a courageous battle at home, Friday, February 8, 2019 at the age of 66. Loving husband of 40 years to Vicki. He will be lovingly remembered by his many extended family and friends. Hacker was a respected heavy truck mechanic for many years. He started at London Motor Products, worked at Southwestern Truck Service, and then worked for Delko Paving before opening up his own business (Evans Service Centre) in the early 80’s. Long time Supermodified and Sprint Car racer and past partner in Cayuga 2000 Speedway. In 2009 Hacker and the love of his life followed their love of Country Music and camping by starting the Boot Hill “Country” Jamboree which is continuing into its 11th year. He loved to sip on a Wisk, and tell a good old story. In true Hacker fashion, there will be no formal service. A kick-ass party to celebrate his life will take place when the camping season begins. A very special thankyou to Sharon Colman from the ALS Society, nurses and health care providers from the Bayshore Health Care, Chatham-Kent, and Garry’s dear friends “Leroy” and Mike. Replies:
